As we all know, people come and go in a networking business. You need to keep on replacing people who have quit.

Unfortunately, that is how the business works. One can't simply stop it. However, there is a way to minimize it and at least keep them as customers of your business instead of downlines.

Its all about trust and relationship. If your downlines think or feel at any point in time that you are just there because you need them, chances are, they're gone in a few weeks, or max, a few months.

The solution is to build relationship with them. Ask yourself, have you been to their house? Do you know the names of their kids? Do you know their birthday? If people see that you are a true friend, and you're not just being an upline to them and you truly are there to help them succeed, chances are they will trust you more. They will stay with you as a faithful downline, or if they are no longer interested in the business, they would be a faithful client of yours. Mind you, these are not just any client, these are "clients for life".

Build relationships, and these relationships will build a strong foundation for your MLM business.

The business school of Robert Kiyosaki

One of the great books about MLM is "The Business School" by Robert Kiyosaki. If don't know who Robert Kiyosaki is, I suggest you get to know him and his ideas about creating passive income. In this book, he talks about why Multi Level Marketing is good, what are the benefits, and some great tips on what you need to look at when evaluating an MLM business.

I remember in Oprah's show when Oprah asked Robert "If you lost everything, what would you do to rebuild it again", and Robert said "I would join a networking company". Everybody laughed and his simple comment was "That's why you're there and I'm here". Suddenly, everbody stopped laughing and are all ears.

This book is a very good tool for educating people about why MLM as a marketing strategy and a business model is a good way to start from shifting from being an employee to being an entrepreneur.

Prospecting lines

If you've been in an MLM business for quite some time, you've already talked to most of the people you know about your business. So how do you expand from there?

Well, the key to having an unlimited supply of people is to learn a skill called prospecting.

Prospecting is as simple as opening up a conversation. A lot of people hate this side of the MLM business because it takes them out of their comfort zone. Most amateur MLM people think that when you prospect, you tell them about your opportunity right away. Wrong approach!

To have great success in prospecting, don't think about getting them into your business. Prospecting is not the same as showing them your business. Its simply getting to know them.
It is as simple as saying "Hi! Are these your kids? They're so adorable...." or if you are waiting for queue in Starbucks, just say "Hi! Do you come here often?". Just start the conversation and then it'll get to the point where you can ask "So what do you do?" and then after some more chit-chat, you just ask for a business card. That's it.

Collect those business cards and after a week, then you can call them.

Here are some more lines you can use.

1. Nice shoes, where did you get those?
2. Great day isn't it?
3. If you encounter some of those telemarketers at night, just say "Wow, you sound great. Look like you're an expert in making deals, I can sure use people like you in my business".
4. "Nice accent, are you from India?" if the guy says yes "That's great! I'm looking for contact in india, as I'm expanding my business there. Mmaybe you can help me." Then exchange business cards.

Prospecting is a necessary skill you need to learn. The good part is that, if people don't respond to you, just prospect some more. Remember, MLM is a numbers game.
